People are the key:

Since Unisus was first created, its purpose has always been to empower people to reach their potential. As well as our clients, the people we are referring to also include our employees. Helping people to succeed in employment which is rewarding and enjoyable is a key part of what Unisus is all about.

Mutual benefit:

In addition to the aspirations which have driven Unisus, we also recognise that looking after our most important asset, our staff, is essential to the success of our business; without the dedication, enthusiasm and reliability of our staff, we simply could not succeed. So when our employees are fulfilled they do a great job, which ensures that our clients get a great service, which in turn enables Unisus to succeed.

Determining staff satisfaction:

For obvious reasons, it is vital to try to understand what keeps our employees happy, fulfilled and effective. Ensuring that regular one-to-one support and supervision takes place is important, as is facilitating good communications throughout the organisation. At Unisus, this takes different forms, including team meetings, electronic messaging and chat, social media and our on-call telephone system. We also need to stay aware of the different aspects of what makes someone happy in their role, which includes very obvious things like pay levels, specific responsibilities and workload, but also less tangible things like how emotionally fulfilling the job is and what the culture of the organisation is like.

Satisfaction surveys:

The most obvious way to gain an insight into employees’ satisfaction with their jobs is to ask. We recently did exactly that, using an anonymous on-line survey to ask our care staff how satisfied they were with different aspects of their jobs and their views on working for Unisus. We were overjoyed by the results.

You can see the results of our employee satisfaction survey here and we hope that you will understand why we are so happy about them!
